Second life always seems to be full of fun things to do and see. A couple of years ago, a few friends and myself visited a place called Bedrock. I hadn’t been there since, but just last week I decided to see if the place still remained and to my amazement, it is still there!

Bedrock – Flintstones Town (SLURL)

The place is signposted, but if you are like myself and Dailyn (who was on this visit with me), then you will ignore the signs and just wanna wander around.

Now don’t get me wrong, maybe a couple of years ago, this place looked amazing. By todays standards, it’s not nearly as great! It could do with a total revamp, maybe making use of sculpted prims and less dance balls and throw in an intan dance machine instead. etc.

However, the little touches that made me smile are still there and brought back a smile to my face at least. Yeah I am easily amused. But, check out the stylus on the record players. Simply class

Then of course there is the bowling alley! Again, nothing great and not exactly free to play, but it all adds to another fun time at Bedrock. Most annoyingly is having to use cam view to bowl and then having to come back out again to pick up the next bowling ball. Not good by todays standards! Sort of stuck in the stone age!!! ahem! Moving on…

Classic or what! Elephant fire engine! Which would be needed if this next guy didn’t do his job right I guess…

It is indeed all very primitive stuff! Even down to the textures and prims! But hey, you do get a gift store to spend your L$ in too. Wanna dress up as Fred? Nah! Me either…but you can if u wanna! Or you could do what myself and Dailyn did….just pose behind the cardboard (well..prim) cut-outs. A-la postcard from the beach style!

Finally, after a hard day of yabbadabbadoo’n, what could be more relaxing than spending some quality time with your partner at a drive in movie?

Well it was great to see the old place still existed. And it did bring back some memories, but in all honesty, the magic of seeing it first time a couple of years ago had gone. SL has progressed a lot in the last couple of years for sure.

But if you have nothing better to, grab your loved one by the hair, after hitting her over the head with a club of course, and drag her with you and have some happy Bedrocking fun.

Sometimes it’s good to take a step back from the daily grind and remember those absolutely silly times you have in Second Life that you know you will remember in days and months to come! Gee, Dai, Jewells and Jas got together yesterday for some Bank Holiday Monday giggles. Pint sized avatars, oversized appendages, some huuuuuuuge facelights were equipped, and a game of Onigokko was thrown in for good measure…and we hadn’t even been drinking..honest!

Yes it is true, no sooner has the Lindens taken over SLX and named it to XStreetSL, they are now changing it once again! This time it shall be known as SL marketplace!

Fair enough. But as always this will cause some confusion among the folks who have been around SL for a long period of time.

I still see folks referring to XStreetSL as SLX in world. So what does this new SL marketplace mean to everyone? Well, for starters the whole XStreet separate balance for your L$ was confusing when they decided XStreet terminals were no longer required.

Yes a good move as working your funds was made easier, in some ways.

As a seller, all the listings on your current XStreet will be ported over to SL Marketplace by June 2010. You may not need to do anything at all. Time will tell…..

Personally I will be waiting for the whole migrate before I re-check all my products in my XStreet boxes are on display and have all relevant details.

Most things should be the same with the exception of Bold Listings etc. Also those who use animated gifs to advertise their product will need to use the new video method! I’m glad I have never used animated gifs to show my products now!

Let’s hope these new changes improve the overall search for everyone on SL in the way they have planned. Less clutter, less crap and simply easy to find items via in-world.

Monday night saw a fairly quiet evening at Ambrosia this week, but it was livened up by an impromptu fancy dress party courtesy of Star27 who provided everyone on the dancefloor with a special costume to wear, to drive out those Monday blues. Thanks Star!!

Thursday night saw the start of another seemingly normal evening at Ambrosia, until a sexy looking couple in black leather showed up and my eyes were immediately drawn to them (I blame the amount of hours a day I’m forced to stare
at my own arse, for that)

The couple made their way to the bar instead of the dance floor…revealing that the bar in question at Ambrosia Dance Club contains some poses that might make you blush…here are Gee and I testing them for you:
